History:
As with many musical outfits, Cybercide was originally conceived as far back as 1999 but did not take the form of an active musical outfit until 2006, when
Eddie and Rob met John, who parted company with the band to start a family in January 2007. The current line up is Barry on guitar,
Eddie on vocals,
Jakub on drums and
Rob on keyboards.
About: While and in depth description can be found on our FAQ page the basics are this: The idea behind Cybercide was quite simple,
take as many really obvious cliches as possible such as the name, the heavy metal guitars, the trance type synths,
the melody driven eighties style vocals, the image and the power tools and try and work them in together.
We do not try to be pioneers of any style of music,
we just want to make music that is accessible, and have some fun along the way.
Why? We enjoy the music that came from the
European alternative scene between 1998 - 2002 more than anything else. We are fully aware that we live in a climate, where musical snobbery, prevails to the point, where original
ideas have little in common with the genre that demands them. so with a hint of tongue in cheek we ignore it all.....
.....and go back to what we enjoyed so much about it in the first place.
Equipment: It seems to be a common question today,
that, as soon as people hear electronic music, they ask what hardware do you use?
We are very much retro-digital, and for the most part the sound we want to achieve comes from the period 1998 - 2002 so we try where possible to use kit from this time period.
